Value-Based Planning Model
Methodology
This tool implements the three-pool staffing architecture from the Future of Work value thesis. Instead of routing all contacts through a single Erlang-modeled queue, it classifies work into three pools based on value and AI capability:
- Pool 1 (Autonomous AI): High AI capability, low interaction value. Fully automated.
- Pool 2 (Collaborative): Medium complexity. Humans monitor N concurrent AI-assisted cases.
- Pool 3 (Specialist): High value, high complexity. Expert humans with Erlang-staffed queue.
The model shows why traditional planning underestimates the cost of AI deployment — the SDRM (Service Demand Rebound Model) captures how making service cheaper increases demand, and the cognitive portfolio model shows how collaborative staffing changes the math from N:1 to 1:N.
